Introducing One Of StarCentral’s Swimsuit Models Of The Month: The Stunning Lilly Douse

Lilly Douse is a science graduate who currently works as a model and sports presenter. She’s extremely active and outgoing; she loves running and working out, as well as partying with friends because she believes that life is all about balance. She also enjoys traveling – although she’s stuck at home just like everyone else who’s in quarantine right now, so she can’t wait to get back to traveling with her work and hopefully do some more swimwear shoots.

StarCentral Magazine recently caught up with Lilly Douse to discuss her journey in the modeling industry and here’s what went down:

How did you get into the modeling industry?

I was scouted at the age of 14 when I was shopping with my parents as I was so tall and lean. I then ended up going to a few agencies and I eventually ended up getting signed by Profile Model management when she was 16.

What do you like most about being a model?

I love how it allows me to be creative, as I have never necessarily been artistic, for me it’s a way to express myself in a different way. I also love that every day is always different!

The downside to being a model?

Modeling work can be sporadic and so I constantly have to change around my plans to fit in shoots.

What has been the most memorable experience of being in the modeling industry so far?

Walking in London Fashion Week is always so memorable as there is such a buzz around the whole event.

Who have been the most interesting people you’ve met so far?

I think meeting and working with Jimmy Choo was definitely a highlight of my career and he is such a lovely person.

What has been the most valuable lesson you’ve learned while in the modeling industry. This can be about the industry or about yourself.

I have learned that every designer is looking for something different, and just because you’re not cast for a role doesn’t mean you’re not good enough – it just means you haven’t got the right look for that specific role.

Is your family supportive of you being a model?

Yes, my family has always been extremely supportive of me. My mum used to take me to photoshoots when I was very young to make sure I was safe and looked after.

If you could go back in a time machine to the time when you were just getting started, what would you do differently?

I wouldn’t take criticism so harshly and let it affect me. I would also tell myself to enjoy every moment of it more, as it’s one of the most enjoyable jobs in the world!

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

To be myself, and no one else.

What are your future plans? Inside your career or out of it.

To keep loving what I do and meet more creative people who want to work with me and create beautiful and unique images. I would also love to travel more with work to different destinations.

The ‘LIGHTNING FAST’ Round:

1. Last good movie I’ve seen: Lost Girls
2. What do you consider beautiful and why? Natural beauty; whether it be directly in nature or on a person.
3. What haven’t you done yet that you wish you could? The Northern Lights
4. Complete this sentence: “If I had no fear, I’d ” Sky Dive
5. What is the one “flaw” you wouldn’t change about yourself? I have a bump on my nose… I always tell myself it adds character to my look!
