The American Australian Association and G’Day USA announces its 2023 honorees for the annual G’Day USA Arts Gala in Los Angeles. The notable event will be held on January 28, 2023, and will celebrate its 20th Anniversary, making it the most spectacular gala yet. For the past 20 years, the G’Day USA program has fostered deeper ties between the United States and Australia and promoted Australian creativity and talent, with the support of the Australian government.
Avatar and Avatar: The Way of Water star Sam Worthington will be awarded the Excellence in Film & Television in recognition of his outstanding performances in over 50 film and television projects.
Supermodel and entrepreneur Miranda Kerr will be honoured with the Excellence in the Arts, in recognition of her accomplishments across fashion, beauty and design. As one of the world’s most influential models, Miranda revolutionized the beauty industry in 2009 as the Founder & CEO of KORA Organics – a global award winning certified organic skincare range.
The Excellence in Music will be presented to Australian rapper, singer, and songwriter The Kid LAROI. The Grammy-nominated artist’s smash hit “Stay” was recently revealed as the No. 1 on Apple Music’s top 100 global songs chart for 51 days straight.
The 20th Anniversary G’Day Arts Gala will include a performance and tribute to the late Olivia Newton-John by ARIA winning-artist Delta Goodrem. Both Goodrem and Newton-John last attended the G’Day USA event in 2020. Newton-John was a constant supporter of G’Day USA, attending many times, receiving an honor presented to her by her Grease co-star, John Travolta, and presenting awards to Keith Urban and Barry Gibb.
The evening will feature high-profile performances, presenters, and honorees. All funds raised will support the American Australian Association and its Arts Fund. Presenting sponsors of the event include Fox, Margot McKinney, News Corp, Qantas, Screen Australia, Stan, Thomas Foods, Tourism Australia and United.
For twenty years, the highly-anticipated G’Day USA Arts Gala has honored prominent Australians from film, television, music and culture for their contributions to the US-Australia relationship.
