The past year posed significant challenges for the entertainment industry, with prolonged strikes halting production for much of 2023. However, Pelas remained undeterred, and now, with the industry thawing, she’s ready to make her mark once again. Among her upcoming ventures is the horror film CURSE OF THE CLOWN MOTEL, in which she shares the screen with horror legend Tobin Bell, Romeo Miller, and Randy Couture.

StarCentral Magazine recently caught up with Lindsey to discuss her journey in the industry and here’s what went down:
Congratulations on the relaunch of your podcast series, “Eyes Up Here”! What inspired you to revive the show, and what can listeners expect from the new episodes?
Thank you! Honestly, I enjoy a place where I can connect deeper with my audience, and they seem to appreciate it, too. I plan to keep it fun and easy-going! I’m not worried about a perfect production or a perfect podcast anymore. I think podcasting and social media, in general, has gotten so produced, making it less fun. It’s too much pressure for me, so I’m keeping it imperfect for now. You can expect conversations with friends, funny perspectives, and a bit more of my personal life, like an audio diary of sorts.
With your diverse background in acting, modeling, and entrepreneurship, how do you balance your various projects and passions in your career?
I’ve only recently accepted that I need to delegate tasks to keep growing. So, a lot of 2024 was reworking my team and putting people in the right positions. Now, I’ve got more free time for creative endeavors and new ventures. I’ve also accepted that having many interests is going to feel messy and imperfect, and that’s okay. No challenge is too big for me as long as I’m in good shape, sleeping, and eating well.

“Curse of the Clown Motel” sounds like a thrilling horror film. What drew you to this project, and what was your experience like working alongside horror icon Tobin Bell and other talented actors?
I worked with some of this team on another film, and I was excited when they asked me to be in this movie. I got to shoot a really scary scene with Romeo Miller, who is such a star. After one night of late-night shooting, I was covered in fake blood. I walked into my hotel, and everyone freaked out. I guess it looked really life-like! (laughs)
Can you tell us more about your character in “Curse of the Clown Motel” and how you prepared for the role?
I try to approach any job the same way: I pay attention, learn my lines, practice, and behave. I pay attention to the set, the other actors, the director, the makeup artists, and the stylists. I accept advice and offer my own input when necessary. I think half of doing any job well is having patience, great manners, and listening.
“Paper Empire” explores intriguing themes surrounding cryptocurrency and international conspiracies. What attracted you to this series, and what can viewers anticipate from your character, Venus, in the upcoming third season?
The cast is so seasoned and so fun; I was excited when Robert Gillings invited me to do the show. Venus is mean to her core but offers a sweet side. She’s in love with a guy who challenges her and puts her in extreme situations.
As someone with a significant following on social media, how do you navigate the intersection between your public persona and your work as an actress and entrepreneur?
A lot of the admin of my life is done quietly. People see easy-breezy and finished projects, but the meetings, emails, negotiations, editing, styling, hustling, all of that… I keep it mostly to myself. A lot of my acting is the same. I’ve been lucky to learn so much on the job. I know the best way to learn is experience, so I’ll drop or alter my schedule for certain acting jobs, even if it costs me money or I lose paid opportunities. It’s all a hobby… until it’s not.
How have you adapted and persevered in your career despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and industry strikes?
I think this was one of the beauties and benefits of the internet. My career isn’t traditional; it’s becoming more so now… but it’s been straight-to-fan, not calculated by an agent, network, or my parents. My business really thrived during the pandemic.
Your podcast, “Eyes Up Here,” aims to challenge social stereotypes. What message do you hope to convey through the show, and how do you approach discussing sensitive topics with your audience?
I’m in a new phase where I don’t want to participate in combative media. With the way social media is designed, and all the rage-baiting and addiction… I think the most radical and rebellious thing to do is chill out. And laugh a little. So now I’m leaning more into that. I think the best way to debunk stereotypes is to live it, not preach it. I think I do that just fine.
Looking ahead, what other projects or goals do you have in mind for the future, and how do you envision your career evolving in the coming years?
This year, I’ve got two artistic projects I plan to release in the fall; I’ve been back and forth about a few others… some TV, some brands, and some writing; I can’t say too much about any of them. But I’m working. My fan site keeps me super busy, and I’m posting on Snapchat like crazy. I’m throwing so many darts at the wall… it’ll be fun to see what sticks! (Or hopefully, it hits a bullseye)
