Disney+ has released the official trailer for its latest Australian original series, Last Days of the Space Age. This eight-part drama dives into the lives of three families in a close-knit coastal community, whose marriages, friendships, and futures are pushed to the brink.
Set against the backdrop of 1979 in Western Australia, the series captures a time of transformation, with the unfolding events of a global beauty pageant sparking a media frenzy and a power strike threatening to plunge the region into darkness. As history teeters on a turning point, the community faces challenges beyond the external chaos, revealing the complex dramas and secrets within these seemingly ordinary families. This town, as they know it, will never be the same again.
Last Days of the Space Age boasts an impressive all-star Australian cast, including Radha Mitchell (Blueback), Jesse Spencer (Chicago Fire), and Deborah Mailman (Total Control). The cast is further enriched by international and local talents such as Iain Glen (Game of Thrones), Linh-Dan Pham (Blue Bayou), Thomas Weatherall (Heartbreak High), George Mason (The Power of the Dog), Vico Thai (Total Control), Ines English (Dead Lucky), Jacek Koman (Jack Irish), and more.
Bharat Nalluri (Boy Swallows Universe) leads the series as the set-up director, with Rachel Ward (Palm Beach, Devil’s Playground) and Kriv Stenders (Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan, Red Dog) also directing.
