JadeThe entire Lakers roster just joined LeBron James in seeking justice for Breonna Taylor – NBA stars such as Dwight Howard, Anthony Davis, and Alex Caruso joined James in wearing modified MAGA hats prior to their first playoff game of the season.
For those who don’t know, Breonna Taylor is a 26-year-old African-American emergency medical technician who was fatally shot by Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) officers Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove on March 13, 2020. The three LMPD officers were wearing plain clothes when they executed a no-knock search warrant and forcefully entered her apartment in Louisville, Kentucky. Gunfire was exchanged between Taylor’s boyfriend Kenneth Walker and the officers. The LMPD officers fired over twenty shots and Taylor was shot eight times.
LeBron James’ demand for justice comes in the form of a modified Donald Trump “MAGA” hat – instead of the words “Make America Great Again,” the message on the hat was “Make America Arrest The Cops Who Killed Breonna Taylor.”
LeBron has promised to use his profile to raise social justice awareness throughout the season and he’s certainly making waves all over the world with this hat especially since it’s playoff time.
