As Eminem celebrated his 48th birthday, another milestone was reached, as a resulted of being the most recognizable rap artist in the 21st Century.
Marshall Bruce Mathers III has produced epic songs and albums that include “8 mile,” “The Eminem Show” and his recent work, “Music to Be Murdered By”. His music has been recycled, reverbed, remixed, and passed down through countless generations.
On October 17, 2020, which is Eminem’s birthday, social media was flooded with messages of support and congratulations by various Hip Hop media outlets.
My Mixtapes wrote on Twitter, “Happy Birthday to one of hip hop’s most legendary rappers… Eminem turns 48 years old today. Many people across the world place Eminem on the same list next to MC’s such as Tupac, Biggie Smalls, and Jay Z.”
Chart Data has honoured Eminem as the fourth lead artist in the history of Spotify to pass 20 billion streams.
“Eminem has now surpassed 20 billion streams on Spotify as a lead artist. He’s just the fourth artist to hit this milestone.”
His first album, Infinite was released in 1996. However, with the help of Dr. Dre’s recording label, Aftermath label, The Slim Shady LP and The Marshall Mathers LP to critical acclaim. He’s d go on to release the following albums: Relapse, Recovery, The Marshall Mathers LP 2; Revival and Kamikaze.
In 2002, 8 mile, a semi-biographical film will give recognition for the rapper’s original song “Lose Yourself”, which earned him his first academy award.
