1.Lords of the South
Both members of the group actually hails from a musical background and were both active singers before Lords of the South was even formed.
Lazy – one of the members of the group, had been singing for around 15 years prior to joining the duo. His style can be considered as Brazilian funk and rock and he was originally in a crew called the GPS crew.
Andressa on the other hand started singing at the tender age of 18 and then she was discovered and asked by Lazy to form Lords of South with a former GPS crew member as one of acting producers for the duo. Andressa agreed and thus, Lords of the South was born.
Their music can best be described as Hip Hop/Pop – their music according to them, is a pure reflection of their state of mind and what is the absolute truth.
Lords of South also have a few distinguished accolades under their belt since the group first burst onto the scene. They were the first ever Brazilian group to be featured on an international soundtrack for the biggest TV channel in Brazil.
What sets them apart from any other group or duo is the fact that their main aim is to promote their country with pride by showcasing their musical skills. Currently they are setting their sights towards conquering their professional goals and developing their repertoire to reach new heights.
1. How long have you been Singing for and how did you get started?
Andressa Besson has been singing for about 4 years now and Lazy has been singing for around 15 years.
Lazy got started in the business by singing Brazilian funk and rock. Originally he was just acting as song writer until 1997. But then in 2001 Lazy started his hip hop project with his crew that was then called GPS Crew (a name that was given to the crew in homage of his neighborhood project that had persisted until 2006).
Unfortunately, the crew was dissolved when one of the co-founders for the GPS Crew left. Enter Lords Of The South – the group was created back in 2007, it was a dream that was transformed to reality.
Andressa Besson got the invitation from Lazy Eyes back in 2007 to join him since then she has become an acting as a member of L.O.S. The only former member of GPS Crew is Inc Motta who also happens to be one of Lords Of The South producers along with Lazy Eyes and Andressa Besson.
2. Describe the style of your own music
We have several influences ranging from gangsta rap to pop songs. All in all, Lords Of The South can actually be considered as a HIP HOP / POP group.
3. What are some of your greatest accomplishments and most memorable gigs/memories in your musical career?
Well we were the first Brazilian group to ever be featured on an international soundtrack for the biggest TV channel in Brazil – Globo TV with three songs in the same season in 2009, and acting wise with music production in the 2010 season also for Malhação (New Wave in other countries). The show was broadcasted in Brazil and more than 30 other countries with an audience of 30 million people only in Brazil. The BT Digital Music awards were also one of our other great accomplishments. Andressa Besson and Lazy Eyes’ MySpace pages were situated in the 27th and 21st position respectively – A position that made them achieve the best position on the 100 Official Music Sites of Latin artists that have clinched on this world’s top 100 list.
4. What are some of your inspirations in music?
Sometimes our inspiration stems from our being in a relationship because we are engaged. Sometimes our idea comes from nowhere; sometimes it comes from something that has happened to uss or with people that we know. Of course, sometimes inspiration also comes from the great artists that we love!
5. How do you want your audience to perceive your music, what is your message?
I want them to perceive our songs through its truth; everything that we sing is an expression of something that we have experienced in our lives. We don’t write about things that we haven’t felt or about things that we have never shared amongst each other or on our previous lives.
6. What makes you different to any other artist?
We are actually not the first Brazilians to sing in another language because there are tons of artists that promote themselves just like us. But we make it in this business because we promote our country and its capacity to come up with good solid artists. We also believe that God is helping us to reach our goals.
7. What are some of you future goals in and out of the music industry?
We want to conquer the industry; we want to reach the goals that we have originally set for ourselves in regards to our projects as singers, artists, producers and also as businessmen.
Out of the industry we want to fulfill all of our dreams, inspirations and aspirations as individuals. We’d like to maintain a good relationship with our family and relatives; We also like to help our country – even the whole world if we can for it to be better place live in. We are hoping to our readers feel joy whenever they listen to our music.

2. Jayou Productions
Music has always played a major role in Jayou productions’ lives. Each member of Jayou Productions came from different musical backgrounds where they each developed their talent from ethnic instruments to percussion to singing. Jayou Productions was officially born back in high school and they have been going strong for around 5 years now. They have managed to set themselves apart from other musical groups out there mostly due to their determination to stay as a versatile group who can actually perform most genres. As producers their main aim is to help their artists become the best they can be whilst pushing boundaries to make them an indestructible producing group. Their attention to detail is what makes them so successful and over the years they have actually won a number of instrumental and writing competitions – but still, to them no award compares to the sheer joy of hearing an artist sing one of their original works of art.
Sweetmojo is an “AcousTric band” which is comprised of three individuals (Oliver, JT and Chris) – they all possess laid-back personalities and they are all very passionate about what they do as well. Their unique band offers a fusion of soul, funk, reggae, melodic pop and more. Inspired by the likes of Beatles, Brand New Heavies, Eagles, James Brown, Motown and Miles Davis they have a style that is commercial yet, as the name would suggest, distinctively enchanting. The covers they usually play are “mojofied” or as the radio announcers describe it – “mojonized”. They write their own songs, but besides that they also carry an extensive repertoire of hits covering the latest radio airplay and classics from various decades including the 50’s. Because of their versatility, the group has garnered generous compliments for performing in various diverse venues, festivals, bars, functions, charities and cafes across NSW. They describe themselves as a “spicy concoction of talents uniquely manifested through guitar, keyboard, drums and yes – with the added twist of the humble ukulele.”
VOiD808 is an Orange County based alternative rock band who has come a long way since they initially started more than six years ago. Since the band’s conception back in 2003, they have found the perfect mix of piano and edgy guitars as well as captured the youthful excitement of a pop rock band like Jimmy Eat World – while still harnessing the mature, yet driving piano lead found in artists like The Fray. Since 2003, they have also released two studio album and has also shared the stage with national touring acts such as Something Corporate, ATREYU, Blue October, Plain White T’s, Over It, The Calling, Stroke 9, Varuca Salt, Pretty In Stereo, Rookie Of The Year, Alien Ant Farm, Saosin, The Daylights, Lorene Drive, and many others. They have a new untitled EP that is expected to be released in the fall of 2009.
A Streetlight Song is a new wave indie band who are based in Sydney, Australia.
