Unsigned Male Artist of the Month for September 2013!

Beginning his music career at just 7 years old, Sebastian Soul will be one to watch out for as StarCentral Magazine’s Unsigned Male Artist of the Month for September 2013. When he competed at the “Latin American Idol” in Colombia back in 2005, he ranked amongst the best 25 contestants out of the whopping 6,000 who  auditioned! Although he didn’t win, he still became a solo artist after his Latin American Idol experience; he writes his own songs in English and his new album “Now or Never” is out now. We had the pleasure of interviewing our unsigned male artist of the month just recently and here’s what went down:

What made you discover music?

I guess you can say it is in my blood. In Ecuador, my family is very musical. So, I grew up playing instruments and singing.

How does it make you feel performing in front of a live audience? Excited? Nervous?

Performing live is the best feeling ever! It is hard to describe but I feel very emotional because I really feel a strong connection with the audience.

What do you like to write about in the songs that you sing?

I like to write about what’s going on in my life at the time, everything, love, etc…whatever inspires me.

Do you play any instruments as well as sing?

I do play instruments as well as sing. I play the guitar, bass, piano, drums, saxophone and violin.

How would you describe your music style and sound?

I would describe the style and sound of my music as R&B/pop.

Where do you want your music career to be in five years time?

I want to be at the top! My goal is to be signed to a record label and be able to tour around the world to see fans who know my songs.

What keeps you motivated to keep singing and chase your dream?

My motivation is my love for music. It is my dream and I will never give up on it.

Who would you love to meet in the music industry?

Right now I am really into Ed Sheeran, The Script and John Mayer. I would love to meet those guys and work together.

What has been your craziest ‘pinch me’ moment so far?

My craziest pinch me moment so far would probably be singing in front of the judges for Latin American Idol in Bogota, Colombia.

What are you currently working on?

I am working on some new projects that should be out before the end of the year.

How do you like to spend your down time, when you’re not singing and rehearsing?

Sports…I love to play soccer and watch sports every day.
