Sexiest Man Of The Month For September 2012

Being new to the modeling world has not stopped Dean Blackwell, StarCentral’s Sexiest Man of the Month for September 2012 from being already internationally recognized. The 23-year old has already appeared on the cover of a South African magazine called ‘Trend Frenzy’ and will be returning there this month for a campaign with ‘Bone Wear’, the country’s first international men’s underwear label and for a photoshoot with Dylan Kruger, creative director of Stone Elephant Photography, a leading South African photography studio. Not bad for a modeling newbie!

Dean hails from Western Australia and was introduced to the industry by his agent, Chris Aarons of CSA Models who discovered him via the StarNow website. Intrigued by the modeling world and by the models themselves, Dean is always interested in hearing about their stories and how they came to be in the industry but he doesn’t deny that he likes getting the “free clothes”!

“The most valuable lesson I’ve learned would have to be to just be on time…” It’s a work ethic that is a clear recipe for success. His résumé includes advertisement campaigns for Australian men’s underwear firms such as ‘Teamm8’and ‘2winkAustralia’, with the latter campaign getting press attention all the way in the USA! His most memorable experience so far is his involvement with ‘Styleaid’, a premier fashion fundraiser benefiting the Western Australia AIDS Council. Leading local, national and international fashion designers lend their talent to the special event to raise money for the worthy cause. “…it was heaps of fun and I met some really nice people, and a lot of gorgeous girls too…”

The multi-talented Aussie (“I love playing and singing on the piano…”) is pretty laid back with his future career plans but he knows that whatever they may end up being, his family will be there to support him. “I have a great family and my parents taught me growing up to always be humble… my siblings will always pull me into line…they are happy for me to give anything a go and see where it takes me…”
