Disney+ has officially dropped the trailer and key art for its highly anticipated Original limited series Good American Family, starring Ellen Pompeo, Mark Duplass, and rising star Imogen Faith Reid. The series will premiere in Australia on 19 March 2025, with the first two episodes available to stream exclusively on Disney+, followed by a new episode each week.
A Mystery That Hits Close to Home
Good American Family tells the intriguing and unsettling story of a Midwestern couple who adopt a young girl with a rare form of dwarfism. As they welcome her into their home alongside their three biological children, they begin to suspect that their new daughter’s age and background may not be what they were led to believe.
Told from multiple perspectives, the series dives deep into themes of bias, trauma, and the danger of assumptions — leaving viewers to question what’s real, who to trust, and how far a family will go to protect itself. The shocking tale eventually plays out not only in the family’s living room, but also in the tabloids and the courtroom.
A Stellar Cast and Creative Team
Led by Ellen Pompeo (best known for her iconic role in Grey’s Anatomy), the cast also features Mark Duplass and Imogen Faith Reid, alongside Dulé Hill, Christina Hendricks, Sarayu Blue, and Jenny O’Hara in guest roles.
The series comes from creator Katie Robbins, who serves as co-showrunner with Sarah Sutherland. Pompeo also takes on an executive producer role through her production company Calamity Jane, with Liz Garbus directing and producing the pilot episode.
