Seven Snipers Locks In Australian Cinema Release with Explosive First Trailer

Australian action fans have something big to look forward to this autumn, with the highly anticipated action-thriller Seven Snipers officially unveiling its first adrenaline-charged trailer ahead of its nationwide cinema release on April 30, 2026. Packed with tension, powerful performances, and relentless action, the film promises to deliver a gripping cinematic experience led by a formidable female protagonist fighting for survival.

Directed by Sandra Sciberras, best known for the sci-fi thriller The Dustwalker, Seven Snipers places audiences right in the crosshairs of a high-stakes battle where past secrets and deadly skills collide. Sciberras brings her signature gritty style to the project, combining intense action sequences with emotional depth and character-driven storytelling.

At the centre of the film is Radha Mitchell, who delivers what is shaping up to be a powerful and commanding performance as former elite sniper Kris Hendricks. Known for her roles in blockbuster hits like Olympus Has Fallen and the survival thriller Rogue, Mitchell steps into the role of a highly trained marksman who has long left her violent past behind—until danger inevitably resurfaces.

The story follows Hendricks as she is forced out of hiding when a ruthless warlord known only as “The Dragon” begins hunting her down. The villain is portrayed by BAFTA winner and Academy Award-nominated actor Tim Roth, widely recognised for his iconic performances in films such as Pulp Fiction and The Incredible Hulk. Roth’s chilling portrayal of a calculating and relentless antagonist promises to raise the stakes in this explosive showdown.

When Hendricks becomes his captive, she is forced to rely on every ounce of her training and survival instincts to escape and protect the daughter she has raised far away from the chaos and violence of her former life. But escaping the past is never easy, especially when a deadly group of snipers is closing in.

The film also features a strong ensemble cast. Ioan Gruffudd, known for his work in the television series Harrow and the superhero blockbuster Fantastic Four, joins the cast alongside Australian actor Ryan Kwanten, who gained international recognition through the hit series True Blood and more recently appeared in the thriller series Them.

Emerging talent Annabel Wolfe stars as Hendricks’ daughter, the emotional heart of the story and the very reason the legendary sniper is willing to risk everything. The young actress is joined by AACTA Award winner Lee Tiger Halley, who plays her boyfriend and becomes caught in the escalating conflict.

Rounding out the ensemble cast are Charles Cottier, Damien Ryan, Bianca Wallace, and Pacharo Mzembe—together forming the mysterious group behind the title’s seven deadly sharpshooters.

Behind the scenes, the film is written by Andrew O’Keefe and produced by Tristan Barr, Sciberras, Grant Hardie, Ian Kirk, Phil Hunt and Compton Ross.

Seven Snipers also marks a significant milestone for Monster Pictures Studios, the production arm of Monster Pictures, which is launching its first production as part of a new genre film slate partnership with Head Gear Films. The collaboration aims to produce bold, commercially driven genre films from Australia for a global audience.

Adding to the excitement, the film will also represent the first theatrical release for (Yet) Another Monster Company, which has secured distribution rights in Australia. The release will be supported by Monster Pictures, a well-known independent distributor specialising in horror and genre cinema across Australia and New Zealand.

With its high-calibre cast, gripping premise, and pulse-pounding action, Seven Snipers is shaping up to be one of the most exciting Australian thrillers hitting cinemas in 2026. As the newly released trailer suggests, audiences can expect an intense ride filled with sniper duels, strategic warfare, and a powerful story of a mother determined to protect her child at all costs.

🎥 Seven Snipers arrives in Australian cinemas on April 30, 2026 — and if the trailer is anything to go by, audiences should prepare for a thrilling showdown that will keep them on the edge of their seats.
