From Africa to London – meet LDNC!

London Connection, also known as LDNC, brings the allure and mysterious music of Africa to the attention of the music masses.  Combining the African and Caribbean influences with RnB and Hip Hop, this London-based group has created a unique sound that in their own words mean “…party, festival…We bring a very vibrant, fun flavour of music to the table…”

LDNC is made up of four multi-talented gentlemen brought together by a shared love of their roots and for music.  Their nationalities come from all over the globe – France, Italy, the Congo and Angola.  The group (Arnold “Bobelle Casanova” Bokungu, Antonio “Zapaterro StrongMan” Nvuala, Nickson “Yur Boy Starz” Matuwidi and Yandi “Yandiman Lelondonien” Sompa) have been together for 5 years and had first come together as a bit of fun. But after discovering that their individual talents (and personalities) blended in a winning mix, London Connection was born.

“…We love performing together; we know each other for a very long time now. We all have lots of energy and we enjoy what we do…”  LDNC’s debut was at the Congolese Independence Celebration in 2009 held at the Stratford Rex.  A mere four years later and the group not only graced the stage of the UK Congolese Achievement Awards, but they were nominated in 3 categories: Best Song, Best Group and Best Video.  They didn’t win all 3 but they won what “…we think the most important one for our career, the best group. Lots of different types of emotions on the night, plus everyone in the hall was screaming our name and singing our songs…”

Continually inspired by their love for music, their families and their fans, LDNC continues to create their unique sound and even the dance moves that go with them!  Infinitely proud and influenced by their heritage, these young men hold to their tenet to “…believe in your talent and you can achieve all your goals. The sky is the limit…”  They hope to “…learn more about the music industry….” and to “…perform and spread our music around the world…” And just like, any musician in the industry there is one prie that looms large on the horizon:  “…why not? Maybe one day win the Grammy…”
