AGSA Academy Hosts Inaugural Masterclass Bootcamp with Celebrity Industry Experts

The Australian Golden Sash Academy (AGSA) recently hosted its inaugural Masterclass Bootcamp at Sparks Studios, a transformative event designed to equip aspiring models with the skills and insights needed to excel in the competitive world of pageantry, fashion and modelling. Held at the prestigious Hilton Sydney, the bootcamp featured an impressive lineup of industry experts, including renowned celebrity photographer Pedro Virgil, esteemed model Joanne Nicholas, and Miss Earth Air 2022, Sheridan Mortlock.

A Stellar Lineup of Instructors

Pedro Virgil, celebrated for his roles as a judge and photographer on “Caribbean’s Next Top Model” and guest photographer on “Australia’s Next Top Model” and “Project Runway Australia,” brought a wealth of experience to the bootcamp. His work has graced the covers of high-profile magazines, and he has collaborated with prestigious clients both nationally and internationally.

Joanne Nicholas, whose modelling career spans over two decades, shared her extensive industry knowledge with the participants. Scouted for Victoria’s Secret casting in 2011 in New York, Joanne has collaborated with esteemed brands such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Issey Miyake, Hugo Boss, L’Oréal, Karl Lagerfeld, Myer, David Jones, Westpac Bank, Westfield, Maybelline, Vera Wang, Sony, and Max Mara.

Adding to the bootcamp’s prestige was Sheridan Mortlock, crowned Miss Earth Air 2022, who provided valuable insights into the intersection of pageantry and modelling and media.

Empowering the Next Generation of Models and Pageant Queens

The bootcamp’s participants included upcoming models and finalists from the Dreams to Reality Runway program, such as Paisley, Harriet, Grace, Rosalie, Poppy, Charli, Miley, Sienna-Grace, Olivia, Arabella, and Georgia. These talented emerging models are set to feature as cover models in the latest issue of Sassy & Co magazine and will showcase their skills at the 2025 Australian Golden Sash Awards, also to be held at the Hilton Sydney.

A Comprehensive Curriculum

The AGSA Masterclass Bootcamp offered a comprehensive curriculum designed to cover all facets of modelling and personal branding. Participants gained valuable insights into makeup and skincare, runway techniques, deportment, posing, and portfolio building. The program also included a live catwalk experience, allowing participants to apply their skills on the runway, boosting their confidence and preparing them for real-world scenarios.
