Alex LafrentzItaly is not only the home of the most scrumptious pizza on earth, and incredibly delectable pasta recipes, but also the birthplace of the indisputably appealing Star Central Magazine’s Sexiest Man of the Month for May 2014, Alessandro Gregori.
The 28-year old hottie began his modeling career when he was 20. Though the water had been quite still for this gorgeous fella, he continued to build his portfolio and worked hard to establish as many connections as possible. After a few years, he brought his ruggedly-handsome Italian charm to Australia, and was immediately spotted by a talent scout. He was invited to join a modeling agency, and he’s been running the catwalk since then.
Alessandro was not camera shy and felt at home in front of its prying lenses. He enjoys meeting new people, and creating a connection with them. And even though he was away from his country, he felt really comfortable in the kind of environment he is in. “I love doing the catwalks, photo shoots, and shooting music videos, which are a whole of fun”, he admits.
Moreover, the Sydney-based model loves every bit of the career he has chosen, and does not consider the hard work and the competition a downside. Consistent and stable work may not always present itself, but it is all part of the decision he made in becoming a model.
One of his memorable experiences was when he entered the renowned Italian pageant, Mr. Belli D’Italia. He recalls that it was an amazing and exciting event for him, which helped him make more connections. Another defining moment of his modeling career was the photo shoot for ‘Suit Me Up Australia’, which would most likely put his name on the list of the most sought after models in Australia.
In order to come up with the perfect photo, there has to be a synergy between the model and their photographer, which is why Alex, his stage name, has formed a bond with the photographers he has met throughout his career. Also, he found them really interesting, and is absorbed with their skill of creating a story in a single shot. He hangs out with some of them outside work to talk about modeling, and other non-work related stuff.
In a tough and highly competitive world of modeling, it is important to have a few friends around whom you can share a laugh with or two, especially since his family is not by his side. Alessandro admits he misses his parents dearly, but he knows that they support him in the path he has taken. He feels that he owes them who he is today, and that he should always give it his best in everything he does.
Giving up is not an option for Alessandro, who is familiar with all the toils and trials that models have to go through to stay in the business. He believes that in order to succeed in modeling, and in other areas of your life, you have to focus, persevere and, most importantly, stay humble. Every individual in the society is created special, and that one should not think he is better than the other. “I learned that being a model is not about appearing in a video or looking good, but it should be about providing good example to others”, says Alex.
This simple yet beautiful Italian man has certainly captured all our hearts with his endearing smile, happy attitude, and his honesty. Well, what can be sexier than a man who has depth and a kind heart, right?
