Female Model of the Month for December 2013!

In the pursuit of one’s career, making sacrifices is often called for.  In the case of Jenna Flett, StarCentral Magazine’s Female Model of the Month for December 2013, that sacrifice is chocolate!  Seems such a small thing really, but since one of Jenna’s favourite quotes is ‘Life is uncertain, eat dessert first’ (attributed to writer, Ernestine Ulmer), giving up chocolate takes on a whole new meaning!

Jenna’s modeling career truly is a gamble that’s paid off!  Originally hailing from Orkney, a small island off the north coast of Scotland, she came to Australia to travel and ended up settling in Melbourne, Victoria (she plans to study next year).  Such a gamble could not be possible without the support of her amazing family back home, “…mum and dad want me to do whatever makes me happy, I couldn’t wish for better parents…”  Her two nephews “…think it’s pretty cool that Auntie Jenna’s a model in Australia!” “…and my Grandad was very proud that I won this competition!”

Getting her start by sending her photos to a few talent agencies, the Scottish beauty has since made some great strides as a promotional model.  She has modeled for notable brands such as Belvedere Vodka and for the Crown Casino in Melbourne, and for magazines as diverse as ‘Bride’ and ‘Hot Rod.’  “…my look is adaptable to different themes so I’m constantly being cast for different concepts, so trying something new can be exciting!”

Her career so far has been peppered with many memorable experiences.  From the “…lovely, fun girls to work with…” to having to endure an underwater photoshoot where the pool’s water temperature was 18⁰C (64⁰F)!  “…I couldn’t talk for an hour after it as I was shaking so much, I was lucky hypothermia didn’t set in! I can laugh about it now though!”  She has also had her fair share of lessons which includes being on time and the importance of having a good relationship with photographers – “…if you let one down you’ll be black listed with them all!”

While easy-going and grounded Jenna may be “…just going with the flow…” for now, her career in front of the camera is sure to keep her busy.  She admits that “…I’m currently single as I’m far too busy to have a guy in my life!”  It no wonder as she already has jobs booked for 2014!  Jenna Flett – a model definitely on the rise!

I seem to be becoming more fearless the older I get, I’ve done a bungee jump so I guess it would be “If I had no fear, I’d spend the night in a haunted house”

I’m open to changing any flaws! I wouldn’t be a very good model if I wasn’t! Ha Ha!
