In the industry of acting and modelling, one should learn how to take every hindrance as a stepping stone to success. This is what Rachel Mawditt has mastered ever since she started her journey both as a model and as an artist. As StarCentral Magazine’s Sexiest Woman of the Month for the month of April 2015, Rachel who stands 5’3 shares that her lack in height has never caused her an absence in opportunities. In fact, she states that as a freelance model, her blessings are overflowing.
StarCental Magazine believes the same. Her achievements in both segments of the industry are possibly as abundant as any taller model has achieved. Rachel is a 22-year old English model who is currently based in London. She started acting at the age of six and many doors have opened since then. The amount of exposure that was given to her was what led her at the doorstep of the modelling world.
Rachel started acting at an early age so she was given the tremendous opportunity to attend a few drama schools that helped her perfect her craft. She had been to Tring Park School of Performing Arts and The Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts in Association with RADA. She also took the Bristol Old Vic Camera Acting Course and is a proud member of The National Youth Theatre. With all the skills and brilliance she has acquired from all these, Rachel had gracefully thrown herself into various auditions until modelling came chasing her when she was presented with a memorable opportunity to be a grid girl at Brands Hatch racetrack.
Rachel loved her initial immersion into modelling world and she treats it closely related to acting. “Each outfit is a different character. Each location tells a different story. I love how the tiniest movement can create a completely different look. It’s very challenging but I love it!” She states with so much passion.
At the age of 11, Rachel had an unforgettable experience of performing at the Coliseum in London. She remembered how daunting it was seeing all of the lights but she recalled that acting-wise, that was one part of her life that she was grateful for. Since then, she had met a lot of wonderful people. She mentions that each casting has allowed her to meet amazing, friendly, and outgoing people to treasure for the rest of her journey.
With all the experiences, castings, and the taste of success, Rachel, whose womanly figure has scored her multitudes of lingerie and glamour shoots, could not help but impart a valuable lesson to all aspiring models like her. She believes that in this industry, one should be strong enough to take on the challenges and should give 100% dedication in everything that you choose to do.
Rachel couldn’t be luckier enough. Her family has always been supportive in all her endeavours and she ensures that she pays them back by staying grounded and not letting fame get in her head. This is also why people would find her doing other things outside her industry, activities like hanging out with her loved ones, doing work at charity shops, or even pole dancing on her spare time. Probably, because it is very easy to lose sight of what is real when you are surrounded by the glitz and glamour but Rachel absolutely knows how to keep her focus.
In the future, Rachel said that she would like to keep pursuing her love for acting and modelling. She also hopes to travel more and move out of home, just a way to expand her horizon. After all, a woman as talented and beautiful as her deserves all the good things that her passion could provide.
‘LIGHTNING FAST’ Round:
- Last good movie I’ve seen. Gone Girl.
- What do you consider beautiful and why? Anything that is of natural beauty as it is pure.
- What haven’t you done yet that you wish you could? See the Seven Wonders of the World.
- Complete this sentence: “If I had no fear, I’d…” If I had no fear, I’d go sky diving.
- What is the one “flaw” you wouldn’t change about yourself? Most people have a beauty spot on their faces; I have one on my bottom which I find quite ‘cheeky’.
