What: Fashions of Multicultural Australia (FOMA) is a first-ever national initiative that will generate trade opportunities and foster social cohesion through the universally binding industry that is fashion.
In 2019, Fashions of Multicultural Australia attendees can expect to see a showcase of international, Indigenous Australian, migrant, and refugee designers as they converge and collaborate through a runway show at a venue of great cultural significance, The Cutaway, Barangaroo in Sydney.
Showcasing the same cultural and stylistic dynamism that made the launch an astounding success in 2018, FOMA 2019 will deliver to audiences a spectacular range of couture, stories, and perspectives from leading and emerging designers.
During the day we invite you to visit the free publicly accessible FOMA Designer and Embassy Exhibit. It will provide a unique opportunity to gain key insights into the many diverse communities that comprise Australia’s multicultural landscape. An opportunity to meet and greet the designers and buy directly from them. Featuring some fantastic examples of current international fashion trends, as well as products and items that are of cultural and commercial significance to the partaking foreign embassies and consulates.
Where: The Cutaway at Barangaroo Reserve
