Melissa Stingley’s journey is a testament to perseverance and the joy of embracing life’s unexpected paths. At 29 years old, she has carved out a successful modelling career, but her story began far from where she is now.
Born in Germany to a German mother and an African American father from the United States, Melissa’s multicultural heritage shaped her early years. In 2016, she moved to Australia with the intention of staying for just one year to travel and explore. More than eight years later, Melissa proudly calls Australia her home.

Her modelling career began when she was 17. At 179 cm tall, people encouraged her to pursue modelling, and she took the plunge, starting with collaborations with photographers to build her portfolio. However, breaking into the industry was challenging, and paid opportunities didn’t come easily. It wasn’t until she moved to Australia and signed with Royalle Modelling that her career truly flourished.
Melissa credits her agent George and Royalle Modelling for the opportunities that have allowed her to do what she loves—travelling to stunning locations and meeting incredible people. For Melissa, this is the essence of what makes modelling such a rewarding experience.

Reflecting on her journey, Melissa shares a heartfelt message: “Be kind, don’t take life too seriously, and treat people the way you would want to be treated. And of course, dance like no one is watching all the time.”
