From Star Hunt Academy trainees to one of the Philippines’ most internationally visible pop acts, BINI’s extraordinary rise is helping redefine what Filipino entertainment can look like on the world stage.

Sydney is preparing for a major celebration of Filipino pop culture as BINI brings its highly anticipated BINI: SIGNALS World Tour 2026 to the Harbour City on 27 September 2026.

Presented by ABS-CBN Global Events, the concert at the TikTok Entertainment Centre will give Australian fans the opportunity to experience one of the Philippines’ biggest contemporary pop acts live on stage.

But BINI’s arrival in Sydney represents more than another international concert stop.

It marks another milestone in the remarkable journey of eight young performers who have grown from trainees into one of the Philippines’ most recognisable entertainment acts — with an influence that now reaches well beyond music and beyond the country’s borders.

Aiah. Colet. Maloi. Gwen. Stacey. Mikha. Jhoanna. Sheena.

Together, they are BINI.

And increasingly, they have become some of the most visible international ambassadors of P-pop.

THE MAKING OF A GLOBAL POP ACT

BINI’s story began with an ambitious vision: to develop Filipino performers capable of standing confidently alongside artists on the world’s biggest stages.

The group was formed through Star Hunt Academy, ABS-CBN’s talent-development programme, where aspiring artists underwent extensive training in singing, dancing, performance and personal development.

From a pool of around 250 hopefuls, eight young women ultimately emerged as BINI: Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna and Sheena.

Before their official debut, the members underwent years of rigorous training under Filipino coaches as well as international performance specialists, including South Korean trainers.

The name BINI, derived from the Filipino word binibini, reflects the group’s image of the modern Filipina — sweet and fierce, independent and informed.

Their pre-debut single, “Da Coconut Nut,” offered an early glimpse of the group’s approach, transforming National Artist Ryan Cayabyab’s well-known composition into a contemporary electro-pop track.

BINI officially launched in June 2021 with their debut single, “Born to Win.”

What followed was not an overnight success story, but a steady build.

The group continued developing its sound, refining its performance identity and cultivating an increasingly devoted fanbase known as BLOOMs.

By 2023 and 2024, that momentum had accelerated dramatically.

Songs including “Karera,” “Pantropiko” and “Salamin, Salamin” became defining tracks in BINI’s rise, while the group’s visibility expanded through live performances, brand partnerships, streaming success and a rapidly growing presence across social media.

Their success helped cement the title that has become synonymous with the group in the Philippines: the “Nation’s Girl Group.”

But BINI’s ambitions — and increasingly, its audience — were becoming much bigger than one market.

FROM THE BINIVERSE TO THE WORLD

BINI’s evolution into a major live act became unmistakable with the success of its solo concerts.

In November 2024, the group staged the sold-out Grand BINIverse at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, performing across three nights for thousands of fans.

Just months later, on 15 February 2025, BINI opened the BINIverse World Tour at the Philippine Arena.

The concert became a landmark achievement, with BINI becoming the first Filipino group to sell out the Philippine Arena.

It was a milestone that demonstrated both the scale of the group’s domestic audience and the extraordinary strength of the community that had formed around them.

From there, BINI took the BINIverse beyond the Philippines.

The world tour expanded internationally with performances in markets including Dubai, London, the United States and Canada, connecting the group with Filipino communities overseas while introducing their music to increasingly diverse audiences.

For Filipino artists, international touring carries particular significance.

The Philippines has one of the world’s largest diasporas, providing performers with deeply connected communities across the globe.

But BINI’s growing international profile has increasingly gone beyond diaspora audiences alone.

Their music, choreography, personalities and distinctly Filipino identity have helped introduce new listeners to P-pop while showing that artists do not need to leave their cultural identity behind in order to participate in global pop.

A NEW SIGNAL IN 2026

If 2025 established BINI as an international touring act, 2026 has pushed that story even further.

In April, the group made history at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, becoming the first act from the Philippines to perform at the globally recognised festival.

Across its Coachella appearances, BINI brought its choreography, vocals and unmistakably Filipino energy to one of the international music industry’s most visible stages.

That same period marked the beginning of another major chapter.

BINI released its SIGNALS EP, led by “BLUSH,” introducing a new era in the group’s sound and visual identity.

The group also received a Global Force Award at Billboard Women in Music 2026, adding another major international recognition to its growing list of achievements.

Then came the BINI: SIGNALS World Tour 2026 — the group’s second world tour.

Beginning in the Philippines before expanding internationally, the tour has continued BINI’s journey across major markets and now brings that momentum to Australia and New Zealand.

The Australia and New Zealand leg features three major stops: Melbourne on 20 September, Auckland on 25 September and Sydney on 27 September.

For a group that began as trainees with a vision of reaching international stages, the SIGNALS era represents a striking evolution of that original ambition.

EIGHT MEMBERS, ONE PHENOMENON

At the heart of BINI’s success remain eight distinctly different personalities who have developed into a remarkably cohesive group.

Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna and Sheena each bring their own vocal colour, performance style and personality to BINI.

There are powerful vocalists, dynamic dancers, charismatic rappers and performers whose individual strengths become even more compelling when brought together on stage.

Jhoanna serves as the group’s leader, but one of BINI’s defining characteristics has always been the way all eight members contribute to its identity.

Their differences are part of the appeal.

Fans do not simply connect with BINI as a polished pop act; they connect with the individual members, their personalities, their humour, their friendships and the chemistry they have built together over years of training and performing.

That relationship between the eight members — and between BINI and their BLOOMs — has become one of the most important ingredients in the group’s success.

WHY SYDNEY MATTERS

That journey now brings BINI back to Australia.

Following the Melbourne and Auckland legs of the tour, Sydney will host the final Australia-New Zealand stop of the BINI: SIGNALS World Tour 2026 on 27 September at the TikTok Entertainment Centre.

Presented by ABS-CBN Global Events, the performance arrives at a time when Filipino music and culture continue to find increasing visibility within Australia’s multicultural entertainment landscape.

For Filipino Australians, BINI represents something deeply personal.

They are artists from home performing with confidence on international stages — bringing Filipino music, language, personality and culture with them rather than leaving those elements behind.

For younger Filipino Australians in particular, the group represents a generation of Filipino identity that is confident, globally connected and unmistakably contemporary.

And for Australian music audiences beyond the Filipino community, BINI provides another opportunity to discover the energy and creativity behind one of the Philippines’ most internationally prominent contemporary pop acts.

The Sydney concert will also offer fans a look at BINI’s latest era alongside the songs that helped drive their rise.

Audiences can expect a full-scale concert experience featuring favourites such as “Pantropiko,” “Salamin, Salamin” and “Karera,” together with material from the SIGNALS era, including “BLUSH.”

THE NEXT GENERATION OF FILIPINO POP

The most interesting question surrounding BINI is no longer whether the group has succeeded.

That has already been established.

The bigger question is how far the BINI phenomenon can continue to travel.

Their international growth has implications beyond the group itself.

Every new stage provides greater visibility for Filipino music.

Every international audience creates an opportunity for listeners to discover P-pop.

Every major milestone can help create pathways for the Filipino artists who come next.

BINI’s success also challenges an old assumption about international entertainment: that artists must minimise where they come from in order to reach audiences elsewhere.

Instead, the group’s journey suggests something very different.

Its Filipino identity is not separate from its global ambition.

It is central to it.

BINI performs in English and Filipino. Its humour and personalities remain unmistakably rooted in home. Its BLOOM community crosses borders while retaining a strong connection to Filipino culture.

And increasingly, global audiences are being invited into that world.

That may ultimately prove to be one of BINI’s most important contributions to Filipino pop.

Not simply the songs.

Not simply the concerts.

Not simply the records or awards.

But the possibility they represent for the artists who will follow them.

2026: A NEW CHAPTER

On 27 September 2026, the lights will come up at Sydney’s TikTok Entertainment Centre.

Eight performers will walk onto the stage.

BLOOMs from Sydney and beyond will be waiting.

For the audience, it will be a night of music, choreography, energy and celebration.

For BINI, it will be another milestone in a journey that began with a group of young trainees and an ambitious vision for Filipino talent.

From Star Hunt Academy to the Philippine Arena.

From “Da Coconut Nut” to “Pantropiko,” “Salamin, Salamin” and “BLUSH.”

From the BINIverse to SIGNALS.

From the Philippines to Coachella and stages around the world.

And now, to Sydney.

BINI’s story is no longer confined to one country.

It has become part of a much bigger moment for Filipino music — one in which culture, technology, fandom and ambition are creating new pathways for artists to reach audiences around the world.

The Philippines has always had the talent.

BINI is helping demonstrate what can happen when that talent is given the platform, preparation and opportunity to travel.

And the signal is travelling farther than ever.

On 27 September, Sydney gets its turn to receive it.
